Matthew Croft
Matthew Croft (born 26 February 1973) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He had a long career with the Western Bulldogs before retiring in 2004. The balding Croft only received three senior appearances with the team in his final year, much to his dismay, as he was performing admirably in the VFL in defence with the Werribee Tigers. The Bulldogs agreed to allow him and fellow veteran Simon Garlick one final appearance in the Round 21 game against the Kangaroos Kangaroos are four marsupials from the family Macropodidae (macropods, meaning "large foot"). Fitzroy FC
The Fitzroy Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Formed in 1883 to represent the inner-Melbourne municipality of Fitzroy, the club was a member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), before becoming a foundation member of the breakaway Victorian Football League (VFL/AFL) in 1897. Fitzroy won a total of eight VFL premierships, of which seven (1898, 1899, 1904, 1905, 1913, 1916 and 1922) were won whilst they were nicknamed the Maroons and one (1944) as the Gorillas. Whitten Oval (also known as Victoria University Whitten Oval under a naming rights agreement) is a stadium in the inner-western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in Barkly Street, West Footscray. It is the training and administrative headquarters of the Western Bulldogs (formerly the Footscray Football Club), which competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). Simon Garlick
Simon Garlick (born 10 April 1975) is a former Australian rules footballer who played between 1994 and 2004, and current football administrator. Drafted to Sydney Swans with the 49th selection in the 1993 AFL draft, he spent his first four years of league football with Sydney, before moving over to the Western Bulldogs. He played over 100 games for the Bulldogs before announcing his retirement during the 2004 season. In December 2010, Garlick was appointed CEO of the Western Bulldogs and maintained that position for four years. The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club.
