Matthew Cox (footballer)
Matthew Aidan Cox (born 2 May 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Brentford. Cox is a product of the Chelsea and AFC Wimbledon academies and began his professional career with the latter club in 2020. He transferred to Brentford in 2021. Cox has been capped by England at youth level. Club career Youth years A goalkeeper, Cox began his career in the Chelsea Academy at age eight and concerns over his height led to his release at age 14. He moved into the AFC Wimbledon academy and progressed to sign his first professional contract in on his 17th birthday in May 2020. Sutton, London
Sutton is the principal town in the London Borough of Sutton in South London, England. It lies on the lower slopes of the North Downs, and is the administrative headquarters of the Outer London borough. It is south-south west of Charing Cross, and is one of the thirteen metropolitan centres in the London Plan. The Premier League Cup is an English football competition run by the Premier League for under–21 sides. History The competition was created in 2013 as the U21 Premier League Cup, an U21 equivalent of the FA Youth Cup (an U18 competition competed for since 1952), albeit being run by the Premier League instead of The FA. In 2016 the age range of the competition was raised to Under-23s, and the competition was renamed as simply the Premier League Cup. 2022–23 Premier League Cup
The 2022–23 Premier League Cup was the ninth edition of the competition. The defending champions were West Bromwich Albion, who defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers on penalties in the previous final. Thomas Strakosha (born 19 March 1995) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Brentford. Born in Greece, he plays for the Albania national team. Jonas Bybjerg Lössl (born 1 February 1989) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Danish Superliga club Midtjylland, and the Denmark national team. In sports, a loan involves a particular player being able to temporarily play for a club other than the one to which they are currently contracted. Loan deals may last from a few weeks to a full season, sometimes persisting for multiple seasons at a time. A loan fee can be arranged by the parent club as well as them asking to pay a percentage of their wages. Association football Players may be loaned out to other clubs for several reasons.
