Matthew Burke (rugby Union, Born 1997)
Matthew Burke (born 4 February 1997) is an Irish rugby union player who is currently a member of the Connacht academy. He plays as a prop, and represents Corinthians in the All-Ireland League. Early life Born in Lewisham, London, Burke moved to Ireland when he was one year old, settling in Ballinrobe, County Mayo, where his fathers parents were from. He first began playing rugby aged 6 with the local club in Ballinrobe, before joining Galwegians in 2015, and represented Connacht at various age grade levels, as well as winning a cap for the Ireland schoolboys team in February 2015. Following this, he made his way across town to play more competitive adult rugby for Corinthians RFC. Lewisham () is an area of southeast London, England, south of Charing Cross. It is the principal area of the London Borough of Lewisham, and was within the Historic counties of England, historic county of Kent until 1889. Connacht ( ; ga, Connachta or ), is one of the provinces of Ireland, in the west of Ireland. 2018–19 European Rugby Challenge Cup Pool Stage
The 2018–19 European Rugby Challenge Cup pool stage is the first stage of the competition in the fifth season of the European Rugby Challenge Cup. The competition involves twenty teams competing across five pools of four teams for eight quarter-final places – awarded to the five pool winners and the three top-ranked pool runners-up. The pool stage begins on 13 October 2018 and is due to be completed on 18 January 2019. Seeding The 20 competing teams were seeded and split into four tiers; seeding was based on performance in their respective domestic leagues. Where promotion and relegation is in effect in a league, the promoted team was seeded last, or (if multiple teams are promoted) by performance in the lower competition. Teams will be taken from a league in order of rank and put into a tier. A draw will be used to allocate two second seeds to Tier 1; the remaining team goes into Tier 2. Sale Sharks
Sale Sharks is a professional rugby union club from Greater Manchester, England. They play in Premiership Rugby, England's top division of rugby. Originally founded in 1861 as Sale Football Club, now a distinct amateur club, they adopted the nickname Sharks in 1999. Since 2012 they have played their home games at the A.J. Bell Stadium in Barton-upon-Irwell, Salford. Between 1905 and 2003 they played at Heywood Road in Sale, before moving to Edgeley Park in Stockport where they stayed until 2012.
