Matthew Bugg
Matthew Bugg (born 25 February 1981) is an Australian sailor. He represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the 2.4mR class sailing event. He won a bronze medal at the 2015 IFDS World Championships. He won a silver medal in the 2.4mR at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Personal Bugg was born on 25 February 1981, and is from Lindisfarne, Tasmania. He is a paraplegic as a result of a snowboarding accident when he was twenty-three years old. While attending a TAFE in Australia, he earned a Certificate III course in Commercial Cooking. , he works as a chef. Sailing Bugg is a sailor, and is a member of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania. He is coached by Richard Scarr, who does double duty as the head coach of Tasmanian State Sailing Performance Program. Bugg started sailing in 1993. Sailing At The 2016 Summer Paralympics
Sailing at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro took place between 12 and 17 September 2016 in Marina da Glória, Copacabana. 80 competitors, 11 of which were female, competed in three keelboat classes. Three sailing events will be held. All were mixed events, meaning that men and women can compete together. Classification International disability classification in sailing is done by a committee, which gives each competitor a number score with lower numbers corresponding to more severe disability. Sailors are classified under the IFDS Functional Classification System. To take part in Paralympic sailing, an athlete must have a score of 7 or less. Qualification There are three main routes of qualification. The 2014 IFDS Sailing World Championships provide the first opportunity, gaining places for just over half of the quota places. Colin Harrison (sailor)
Colin Anthony Harrison (born 20 February 1961) is an Australian Paralympic sailor. He won the bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, and the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in the Three Person Sonar. Personal He was born on 20 February 1960. He is a right forequarter amputee due to cancer. Career He participated in the Mixed Three Person Sonar event at the 2004 Athens Games without winning a medal, and won a bronze medal in the same event at the 2008 Beijing Games. His team finished 6th at the 2012 Games. At the 2013 IFDS World Championships in Kinsale, Ireland, he teamed with Jonathan Harris (sailor) and Russell Boaden to win the bronze medal in the Sonar Class.
