Matthew Blandford
Matthew Blandford (born April 16, 1985) is a Canadian curler currently residing in Cold Lake, Alberta. He is originally from Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, and is a three-time Newfoundland and Labrador junior champion. Career Blandford started his curling career as a junior curler in Newfoundland and Labrador. He was the provincial junior champion three times, and represented Newfoundland and Labrador at the Canadian Junior Championships three times. He finished in tenth place in 2003, finished as the runner-up in 2004, and finished tied for fourth at the 2005. Blandford played at the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial men's championship as skip in 2006,eventually losing in a tie breaker . Stephenville (Canada 2021 Census population 6540) is a town in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland. Brad Gushue
Bradley Raymond Gushue, ONL ( ; born June 16, 1980) is a Canadian curler from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Gushue, along with teammates Russ Howard, Mark Nichols, Jamie Korab and Mike Adam, represented Canada in curling at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where they won the gold medal by defeating Finland 10–4. He also represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal. In addition to the Olympics, Gushue won the 2017 World Men's Curling Championship with teammates Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant, and Geoff Walker. Artificial Lift
Artificial lift refers to the use of artificial means to increase the flow of liquids, such as crude oil or water, from a production well. Generally this is achieved by the use of a mechanical device inside the well (known as pump or velocity string) or by decreasing the weight of the hydrostatic column by injecting gas into the liquid some distance down the well. A newer method called Continuous Belt Transportation (CBT) uses an oil absorbing belt to extract from marginal and idle wells. Artificial lift is needed in wells when there is insufficient pressure in the reservoir to lift the produced fluids to the surface, but often used in naturally flowing wells (which do not technically need it) to increase the flow rate above what would flow naturally. Kevin Koe ( ; born January 11, 1975) is a Canadian curler. Koe is a two-time World champion and four-time Canadian champion. He was the skip of the Canadian men's team at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. Originally from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, he now resides in Calgary, Alberta and curls out of The Glencoe Club. He learned to curl at the age of six in Inuvik, Northwest Territories.
