Players Matthew Allan Matthew Bruce Allan (born April 17, 2001) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization. Allan attended Seminole High School in Sanford, Florida. During his senior year, he threw a perfect game in which he struck out 17 batters. He was named the 2019 Florida High School Player of the Year by Perfect Game. Allan committed to play college baseball at the University of Florida. Allan was drafted by the New York Mets in the third round with the 89th overall selection in the 2019 Major League Baseball draft. He was considered a top prospect for the draft, but fell due to his strong commitment to Florida. He signed for $2.5 million, the richest deal ever for a third round selection. Matthew Allan
Matthew Allan (born 26 February 1975) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He joined with the Carlton Football Club in 1992, and debuted in 1994 as the 1000th player to represent Carlton. He played as a ruckman, reaching his peak in 1999, when he won the John Nicholls Medal, won All-Australian selection and was selected for the International rules series. He was traded to the Essendon Football Club following some foot injuries and made his debut with the club in 2004. He had a solid year, playing 20 games and helping Essendon to the finals (along with Justin Murphy, another recycled player). In 2005, he played one game before knee soreness resurfaced (which had kept him out of action for four games in 2004), and following this, at the end of the season Allan confirmed his retirement. Matt Allen
Matt Allen (born October 23, 1977) is an former American football punter in the National Football League. Allen played college football at Troy State and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2002. He played for one season with Falcons and New York Giants. Early life Allen played football, basketball, and baseball for Calvary Christian Academy. College career Allen played for Troy State University. NFL career Before joining the Giants, Allen played for the Atlanta Falcons in the preseason. In his lone NFL season, Allen had 63 punts for 2,326 yards with 2,045 net yards and an average 36.9 yards per punt. He is infamously known for attempting a pass to Rich Seubert after a botched snap from Trey Junkin on a field goal attempt to win the game on the last play of the Giants- 49ers NFC Wildcard game on January 5, 2003. Klein Competition
The Irving M. Klein International String Competition is a music competition held annually in June in San Francisco, California. The Klein is open to string players between the ages of 15 and 23 who are not under professional management. The competition was founded in 1985 in memory of Irving M. Klein, an acclaimed cellist and educator. Each of eight or nine semifinalists, selected in a triple-blind review process from among 110 to 130 applicants, performs a 25-minute recital on the first day. The jury panel advances up to four finalists, who play 35-minute programs on the second day. The judges then award top prizes, which include substantial cash prizes and performance contracts. The performances are open to the public at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and are live-streamed worldwide.
