Matt Thorne, also known as Matt Thorr, is a bassist who has played in the glam metal band Ratt, Rough Cutt, and Jailhouse. He co-wrote the song "Back For More" with Stephen Pearcy on Ratt's album '' Out of the Cellar''. He currently owns MT Studios for BlueThumbProductions in Burbank, California where he has produced, engineered and mixed albums for artists such as The Eels, Trapt, and 8th Day. Ratt is an American glam metal band formed in San Diego, California, in the 1970s, that had significant commercial success in the 1980s, with their albums having been certified as gold, platinum, and multi-platinum by the RIAA. The group is best known for their hit singles " Round and Round" and " Lay It Down", both of which charted in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Anthology (Rough Cutt Album)
Anthology is a collection of previously unreleased Rough Cutt material. The Fiddler's Studio Sessions were recorded before the band's first album was recorded. An earlier version of "Try a Little Harder", with Craig Goldy on guitar, was released on the ''KLOS 95 1/2: Rock to Riches'' compilation in 1983. The song "Prowler" was re-recorded for inclusion on '' Rough Cutt Live'' as one of 3 studio bonus tracks. ''Rough Cutt'' is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Rough Cutt, released in 1985. It was produced by Tom Allom, who is most famous for producing Judas Priest. The song "Take Her" was co-written by Ronnie James Dio. The songs "Dreamin' Again" and "Black Widow" were co-written by Wendy Dio, Ronnie's wife and also the band's manager at the time. "Piece of My Heart" was originally performed by Erma Franklin, though Janis Joplin made it famous, and many people mistakenly believe Janis Joplin was the original performer of the song. "Never Gonna Die" was written by vocalist Mark Gable and guitarist Brad Carr whose band The Choirboys scored a minor hit with it in 1983. The single peaked at No. 21 on the Australian charts.
