Matt Rinaldi
Matthew Daniel Rinaldi (born April 11, 1975) is an American attorney and politician serving as the chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. Rinaldi was a member of the Texas House of Representatives for district 115 in Dallas County from 2015 to 2019 when he was defeated by Democrat Julie Johnson. Early life and education Rinaldi was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, at which he drew national attention for his successful effort to have the Pledge of Allegiance recited prior to meetings of the student government association. Justin Rodriguez (September 4, 1974) is an American politician. He served as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives from 2013 until January 2019, when he resigned after being appointed to a seat on the Bexar County Commissioners Court. Rodriguez previously served on the San Antonio City Council, and was a Bexar County prosecutor. In the race to succeed Representative Rodriguez, Fred Rangel, a member of the Republican State Central Committee for District 26 in the Texas State Senate, and Democrat Ray Lopez, a former member of the San Antonio City Council, met in a March runoff contest. Alfonso "Poncho" Nevárez Jr. is a former Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives. First elected in 2012, Nevárez announced in November 2019 that he would not seek re-election in 2020. This decision was ultimately connected to his arrest for cocaine possession later that month.
