Tape Deck Heart
''Tape Deck Heart'' is the fifth studio album by English singer-songwriter Frank Turner, released on 22 April 2013 on Xtra Mile in the UK, and on Polydor / Interscope worldwide. Produced by Rich Costey, the album was preceded by the single, "Recovery." Described as a "break-up album," ''Tape Deck Heart'' was written and recorded following the collapse of a long-term romantic relationship. Turner stated: "There’s a lot of stuff on this record about loss and failure in relationships, about what happens when something that was supposed to be timeless runs out of time." ''Tape Deck Heart'' has been given a Parental Advisory label due to the profanity heard on tracks "Plain Sailing Weather" and "Good & Gone". The title of the album is taken from a lyric in the song "Tell Tale Signs". Background and recording After extensive touring in support of Turner's fourth studio album, ''England Keep My Bones'' (2011) - which included an appearance during the 2012 Summer Olympics opening ...

Rock & Roll EP
''Rock & Roll'' is an EP by Frank Turner, released on 6 December 2010 on Xtra Mile Recordings. Describing the release as "a taster" for his subsequent studio album, ''England Keep My Bones'', the EP was preceded by the single, "I Still Believe". Writing and composition Regarding the EP's overall aesthetic, Turner noted, "If the music I make is a spectrum that has acoustic folk stuff at one end, and rock music at the other, with ''Poetry of the Deed'' the needle was over towards the rock end. That's fine to do on occasion, but I think that as a general thing I’d rather be somewhere a bit more in the middle. So that’s the idea with ''Rock and Roll'', and with the new album as well; the idea is to pull things back a little bit." Track listing Personnel * Frank Turner - lead vocals, lead Guitar, mandolin * Ben Lloyd - electric guitar * Matt Nasir - piano, keyboards, vocals * Tarrant Anderson - bass * Nigel Powell - drums, percussion, vocals ;Additional personnel *Tristan Ivem ...

Preceded by the single, " Peggy Sang the Blues", the album was produced and mixed by Tristan Ivemy, who had previously mixed ''Love, Ire and Song'', ''Rock & Roll'' and ''Campfire Punkrock''. The album's title is taken from William Shakespeare's play, ''The Life and Death of King John'', with Turner noting, "I knew that the album was, for the most part, about mortality, and about Englishness. Shakespeare seemed like a good place to go hunting for some pearls of wisdom, and with a little help from my friend Ben we came across this one, and it just seemed to fit the work really well." Background and recording Amidst extensive touring in support of ''Poetry of the Deed'', Turner and his then-untitled backing band recorded ''Rock & Roll'', an EP consisting of tracks writte ...

Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Since the mid-1950s, the bass guitar has largely replaced the double bass in popular music. The four-string bass is usually tuned the same as the double bass, which corresponds to pitches one octave lower than the four lowest-pitched strings of a guitar (typically E, A, D, and G). It is played primarily with the fingers or thumb, or with a pick. To be heard at normal performance volumes, electric basses require external amplification. Terminology According to the ''New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians'', an "Electric bass guitar sa Guitar, usually with four heavy strings tuned E1'–A1'–D2–G2." It also defines ''bass'' as "Bass (iv). A contraction of Double bas ...
