Matthew Christian Morris (born August 9, 1974) is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher from through , most notably as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals where, he was a two-time All-Star and led the National League in with 22 wins. After playing nine seasons with the Cardinals, he played his last four seasons with the San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Early life Morris was born in Middletown, New York, the youngest of three children of George, a Vietnam War veteran and Local 580 ironworker, and Diane Morris. Both of his sisters played softball for the Wagner College Seahawks. Morris moved to nearby Montgomery, New York, at 13 years old where he played baseball at Valley Central High School. He has released solo projects on Tennman/ Interscope Records, but is best known for his work as a songwriter and producer for a variety of artists, including Joy Williams, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire, Mary J. Plaid Retina was an American punk rock band from Visalia, California, United States, formed in 1986 and active until 1996. History The beginning The history of Plaid Retina begins in 1984, in Visalia, a small city in California Central Valley, when drummer Don Hudgens joined metal band Oblivion, a high school band established by Travis, Jeff Gilley, "Bryan T" Thompson, Alarick Garcia and Mike Matthews. The crew for that band also included Matt Morris and Jeff Beck. It was at this time Hudgens and Matt Morris met up with Kelly Casper, who was part of that scene at Redwood High School. Matthew Allan Morris (15 March 1969 – 28 June 2020) was an Australian politician, who was elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for the seat of Charlestown representing the Labor Party. Matthew was the son of Peter Morris, and a nephew of Allan Morris, both politicians. He succeeded Richard Face as the member for Charlestown at the 2003 New South Wales state election. Morris won re-election at the 2007 election with 43.46% of the vote, fending off his closest competitors, independent Paul Scarfe with 24.56% and Liberal Lindsay Paterson with 18.63%. On 26 March 2011, Morris was defeated by Cardiff veterinarian Andrew Cornwell. This was the first time in electoral history the Liberal Party had held the seat of Charlestown or any Lake Macquarie or Newcastle seats.
