Matt Katula
Matthew Charles Katula (born August 22, 1982 in Brookfield, Wisconsin) is a former American football long snapper. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as undrafted free agent in 2005. He played college football at Wisconsin. He was also a member of the New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers. Early years Katula attended Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, Wisconsin and was a letterman in football. As a senior, he won first-team All-Conference honors on offense, and second-team All-Conference honors on defense as a linebacker. His younger brother, Sam, was a standout basketball player at UW Parkside. College career Katula attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he redshirted as a freshman in 2000. Long Snapper
In American football, the long snapper (or deep snapper) is a center on special teams whose duty is to snap the football over a longer distance, typically around 15 yards during punts, and 7–8 yards during field goals and extra point attempts. Overview During field goal and point after touchdown attempts, the snap is received by the holder, typically 7–8 yards away. During punts, the snap is delivered to the punter from 13–15 yards away. Following a punt snap, the snapper often executes a blocking assignment and then must cover the kick by running downfield and attempting to stop the opposing team's punt returner from advancing the ball in the opposite direction. If the punt goes uncaught, it is the snapper's responsibility to make sure the ball does not enter the end zone or bounce backward resulting in loss of yards. Cullen Crawford Loeffler (born January 27, 1981) is a former American football long snapper. He played college football at Texas, and signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2004. Early years Loeffler attended Ingram Tom Moore High School in Ingram, Texas. He earned four varsity letters in both football and basketball. He also played in the UIL State Championship in doubles for tennis, winning the bronze in his junior year. Jacob Ingram (born February 23, 1985) is a former American football long snapper. He played college football at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft as a center. Early years Ingram played football at Mililani High School in Mililani, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu where he also lettered in track, and grew up with a childhood friend, Sahil Muliyil, who was his "inspiration to play football". He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He played college football at Tennessee. The 2006 Baltimore Ravens season was the franchise's 11th season in the National Football League, it would begin with the team trying to improve on their 6–10 record in 2005.
