Matt Hancock (Neighbours)
Matthew "Matt" Hancock is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Stephen Hunt. He made his first on screen appearance on 26 March 2001 and departed on 9 May 2002. In 2005, Hunt reprised his role as Matt for the show's 20th anniversary episode. Creation and casting In early 2001, the ''Neighbours'' scriptwriters decided to introduce some "new blood" to the show to fill the void left by the temporary departures of six regular characters. The writers created and introduced the five strong Hancock family. Eldest son Matt, played by Hunt, was the first member of the family to arrive, making his debut on 26 March 2001. Matt was Hunt's first television role and the actor relocated from Sydney to Melbourne for filming. Matt's arrival followed the departure of Lance Wilkinson (Andrew Bibby). Benjamin McNair
Benjamin John McNair (born 25 August 1974, London) is an Australian actor, best known for his role as Malcolm Kennedy in the soap opera ''Neighbours'' which he played from 1994 to 1997 returning briefly in 2002, 2004, 2011 and 2014 with a cameo appearance in 2005 and also in 2022 as the show was coming to an end. Early life McNair moved to Australia with his family when he was 18 months old. He developed an interest in performing and began studies at the Australian Theatre for Young People and completed a season at the NIDA Summer School in Sydney. Malcolm Kennedy is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera ''Neighbours'', played by Benjamin McNair. Shortly after he was cast, McNair relocated to Melbourne to be closer to the studio. He admitted that it was a shock leaving his family and friends in Sydney. Ian Smith (born 19 June 1938) is an Australian actor, television producer and screenwriter. Smith appeared in roles for Crawford Productions, before working as a producer, screenwriter and actor on the cult series ''Prisoner'' and the soap opera ''Neighbours'' as Harold Bishop from 1987 when the series was taken over by Network Ten until 1991.
