Matt Gress
Matt Gress is a politician and Republican member of the Arizona House of Representatives elected to represent District 4 in 2022. Early career & education Gress grew up in rural Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he was selected for the Harry S. Truman Scholarship. Gress went on to be a public school teacher as part of the Teach for America program. He also received his Masters degree from Syracuse University. In Arizona, Gress worked as an analyst for the non-partisan Joint Legislative Budget Committee, and later as Director of the Governor's Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting, under former Governor Doug Ducey. From 2017 until 2021, Gress served as a governing board member in the Madison Elementary School District, in central Phoenix. Gress is openly gay. Joel John is an American politician and former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. A member of the Arizona Republican Party, he served alongside Democrat Brian Fernandez in Arizona's 4th legislative district. Career John was born and raised in Buckeye, Arizona. He comes from a family of farmers who have been in Arizona since the late 1800s, and in the Buckeye region since the 1950s. Before his legislative career, John was a music teacher at Buckeye Elementary School. Douglas Anthony Ducey (, né Roscoe Jr.; born April 9, 1964) is an American businessman and politician serving as the 23rd governor of Arizona since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, Ducey was previously the CEO of Cold Stone Creamery, a chain of ice cream parlors. Ducey was Arizona state treasurer from 2011 to 2015.
