Matt DeMarchi
Matthew DeMarchi (born May 4, 1981) is an American-born Italy, Italian former professional ice hockey player who participated at the 2010 IIHF World Championship as a member of the Italy men's national ice hockey team. Playing career Amateur DeMarchi played amateur hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with the North Iowa Huskies before attending the University of Minnesota where he played college hockey with the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's ice hockey team from 1999 - 2002. Professional On June 24, 2000, he was selected by New Jersey Devils in the 2nd round (57th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Following his graduation from university, DeMarchi turned professional playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Albany River Rats from 2003 - 2006. Albany River Rats
The Albany River Rats were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League. They played in Albany, New York at the Times Union Center. History Before the formation of the franchise Without a viable indoor arena with an ice surface, through the end of the 1980s the city of Albany had never had a minor league professional hockey team. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. A goal awards one point to the team attacking the goal scored upon, regardless of which team the player who actually deflected the puck into the goal belongs to (see also own goal). List Of NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey All-Tournament Teams
NCAA All-Tournament team is an honor bestowed at the conclusion of the NCAA Division I ice hockey tournament to the players judged to have performed the best during the championship. The team is currently composed of three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender with additional players named in the event of a tie. Voting for the honor was conducted by the head coaches of each member team once the tournament has completed and any player regardless of their team's finish is eligible. The All-Tournament Team began being awarded after the first championship in 1948 along with an All-Tournament Second-Team. The second team was dropped after the 1969 tournament and it has remained a single team ever since except for 1976 when no team was selected. Italian Hockey League - Serie A, formerly known as Serie A, is the top tier of professional ice hockey in Italy, which first began play in 1925. American Hockey League
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 AHL season, 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams.
