Matt Bailey (soccer)
Matthew Bailey (born April 5, 1991) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with Södertälje SK in the HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). Playing career Bailey played for the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves in the NCAA Men's Division I Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). In his senior year, Bailey's outstanding play was rewarded with a selection to the 2013–14 All-WCHA First Team. On March 26, 2014, the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL) signed Bailey as an undrafted free agent to a two-year entry-level contract and on March 28, 2014, he made his professional debut with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. At the conclusion of his entry-level contract with the Ducks, Bailey was not tendered a qualifying offer in order to retain his rights on June 27, 2016. Södertälje SK
Södertälje Sportklubb, also known as Södertälje SK and often referred to as SSK, is a Swedish professional ice hockey club playing in HockeyAllsvenskan, the second highest level of pro hockey in Sweden. Södertälje were charter members of Elitserien when the league was founded in 1975 and have since played 24 seasons in the league (1975–1978, 1980–1981, 1983–1992, 1996–1998, 2001–2006, 2007–2011). The Swedish Hockey League (officially SHL; sv, Svenska Hockeyligan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the highest division in the Swedish ice hockey system. The league currently consists of 14 teams. The league was founded in 1975, and while Swedish ice hockey champions have been crowned through various formats since 1922, the title and the Le Mat Trophy have been awarded to the winner of the SHL playoffs since the league's inaugural 1975–76 season. 2016–17 AHL Season
The 2016–17 AHL season was the 81st season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 14, 2016, and ended on April 15, 2017. The 2017 Calder Cup playoffs began on April 20, 2017. Regular season The AHL had a slight alignment shift with the addition of the Tucson Roadrunners to the one-year-old Pacific Division, bringing the division member total up to eight. It also created an unbalanced conference alignment with the Western Conference having 16 members and the Eastern Conference containing 14 members. Similar to the season scheduling in the previous season, the five California based teams, plus the new Tucson team, continue to play a 68-game season while the rest of the AHL teams play a 76-game season.
