Oleksandr Matsievskyi
Oleksandr Ihorovych Matsievskyi ( uk, Олександр Ігорович Мацієвський, ; 10 May 198030 December 2022) was a Moldovan-born Ukrainian Ground Forces member and captive executed by Russian soldiers during the Battle of Bakhmut in the Russian invasion of Ukraine in late December 2022. The video of the execution circulated online around 6 March 2023, showing a soldier without weapons, smoking a cigarette, saying "Slava Ukraini" and then being shot with automatic weapons from multiple sides. The 30th Mechanized Brigade initially named Tymofii Shadura as the victim and a video of the shooting was shared on social media. Later reports suggested Matsievskyi as a credible alternate identification, which was subsequently confirmed by the Ukrainian government. Georgy Matsievsky
Georgy Evgenievich Matsievsky (russian: Мациевский Георгий Евгеньевич) (10 December 1880 − 23 November 1941, Harbin) was a Baikal Cossack, active participant of the White movement in Transbaikal, Lieutenant-General (1919). He was a son of Evgeniy Matsievsky. Georgy Matsievsky was graduated from the 3rd Moscow Cadet Corps and the Cavalry Institution in 1903. He volunteered as a private Cossack in the 3rd Verkhneudinsk regiment which participated in the suppression of the Boxer Rebellion. Georgy Matsievsky was awarded with the Order of St. George of the Fourth Degree for his bravery during the siege of Wang Gun. From 1903 to 1917 Georgy Matsievsky served as an officer in the 1st Verkhneudinsk regiment. Igor Vladimirovich Matsiyevsky (uk: Мацієвський Ігор Володимирович, ru: Мациевский, Игорь Владимирович, born 1941) is a Ukrainian film music composer and music ethnographer. Matsiyevsky was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He completed studies at the Lviv Conservatory, post graduate studies in composition at the Leningrad Conservatory, and doctorate at the Russian Institute of Culture. He has prepared 5 doctor habitalis and 22 doctorates with graduates specializing in Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyrgiz, Tatar, Azerbaijani, and other cultures.
