Mats-Ola Carlsson
Per Mats Ola Carlsson (born 28 January 1961) is a Swedish former footballer who most notably played as a right-back for IFK Göteborg. Club career Carlsson helped IFK Göteborg win the 1986–87 UEFA Cup, playing the full 180 minutes as a right-back in the two final games against Dundee United. He was also a part of the IFK Göteborg that won the 1987 Swedish Championship title. International career Carlsson played ten games for the Sweden U21 team between 1985 and 1987. The Allsvenskan play-offs was a Swedish football cup held to decide the Swedish football champions between 1982 and 1990. The cup was created to increase the average attendance for Allsvenskan since public interest had dropped remarkably in the previous years. The four best placed teams in Allsvenskan qualified for the cup. The cup was succeeded by Mästerskapsserien to decide the champions. Malmö FF are the holders of the record of most titles with 22 Swedish championships. After winning the 2021 Allsvenskan, Malmö FF are also the reigning Swedish football champions. The title has been contested since 1896 in varying forms of competition. The first Swedish Champions, Örgryte IS, were declared in 1896 when the club won the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet. Allsvenskan (; en, the All-Swedish, also known as Fotbollsallsvenskan, en, the Football All-Swedish) is a Swedish professional league for men's association football clubs. It was founded in 1924 and is the top tier of the Swedish football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan. Seasons run from late March or early April to the beginning of November, with the 16 clubs all meeting each other twice, resulting in a 30-match season, for a total of 240 matches league-wide.
