Mati O Manush
''Mati O Manush'' ( bn, মাটি ও মানুষ), originally called ''Amar Desh'', was a pioneering television programme on Bangladesh Television. The programme started in the mid-1980s and focused on the agricultural sector of Bangladesh. The show was jointly hosted by Rezaul Karim Siddique and Shykh Seraj. Rezaul Karim Siddique was involved in this program in January 1983. In 1985, the show's title was changed from ''Amar Desh'' to ''Mati O Manush''. At that time, the producer, Alimuzzaman, picked Shykh Siraj as another anchor in this program. Seraj left in 1996. Dewan Siraz was made Siddique's co-anchor of this program until he left Bangladesh for overseas job. Bangladesh Television ( bn, বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন), commonly known by its acronym BTV ( bn, বিটিভি), is the state-owned television network of Bangladesh. The network was originally established as the East Pakistan branch of PTV in 1964. It is the oldest Bengali-language television network in the world, and is the sister to the radio broadcaster Bangladesh Betar, which, along with BTV, are both owned and operated by the government. Shykh Seraj (born 7 September 1954) is a Bangladeshi journalist, media personality and agriculture development activist. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1995 and Independence Day Award in 2018 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life Seraj completed SSC from Khilgaon Govt. High School & HSC from Notre Dame College, Dhaka. Seraj earned his M.A. degree in geography from the University of Dhaka. Career Seraj co-anchored a television series '' Mati O Manush'' (''Men and Soil'') on Bangladesh Television since 1982. The television program featured investigative documentaries and in-depth reporting and points out solutions to the various problems that farmers face. Channel i ( bn, চ্যানেল আই) is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Impress Group. It was launched on 1 October 1999, as Bangladesh's first digital television channel. It is one of the oldest satellite television channels in Bangladesh.
