The Mathoura Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Timbercutters'', is an Australian rules football and netball club The club based in the small New South Wales town of Mathoura, New South Wales, Mathoura. Their teams currently play in the Picola & District Football League. History Mauthoura played in the Deniliquin Football Association and won four consecutive premierships between 1920 and 1923. In 1929, Mathoura were runners up to Kyabram Football Club, Kyabram in the Northern Goulburn Football Association. Mathoura, New South Wales
Mathoura is a small town in the Riverina region of southern New South Wales, Australia, in the Murray River Council local government area. At the , Mathoura had a population of 938. The town's name is derived from an aboriginal word for 'windy'. History In 1848 a reserve was established on Gulpa Creek by Surveyor Townsend. The locality became known as Redbank. By 1853 W. Moore Carter had established an inn at Redbank and in 1856 he was permitted to purchase at £2 10s. per acre. By 1860 Carter had about under cultivation, including a vineyard. A petition in 1859 called on the Government to put up the reserve at Redbank for sale. The Deniliquin Football Association (Deniliquin FA) was first established in 1900 to cater for Southern Riverina (New South Wales) Australian rules football clubs in and around Deniliquin. The Kyabram Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Bombers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Kyabram, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVFL). Kyabram was a foundation club in the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVFL) and has been one of the most dominant. Only the Shepparton Football Club have won more premierships. The club had a successful era the 1920s, when they won five GVFL premierships, including the Kyabram Reserves winning the senior football premiership in the Northern Goulburn Football Association in 1929. The club has produced many VFL/AFL footballers, including Ross Dillon, Garry Lyon and Brett Deledio. Picola is a town in northern Victoria, Australia. The town is located in the Shire of Moira local government area, from the state capital, Melbourne. At the , Picola had a population of 334.
