Matey Kaziyski
Matey Kaziyski ( bg, Матей Казийски) (born 23 September 1984) is a Bulgarian volleyball player, member of Bulgaria men's national volleyball team during 2003–2012 and Italian club Trentino Volley, a participant of the Olympic Games Beijing 2008, bronze medalist of the World Championship 2006, World Cup 2007 and European Championship 2009. He is a multiple winner of the CEV Champions League and FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship with the Italian club Trentino Volley. Personal life Kaziyski was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. His parents were volleyball players in Bulgarian national teams. As a child he trained different sports like football, basketball and horse riding. Kaziyski is dating Elisabetta Farrugio, former Miss Trento. In 2017 their son Aleksander was born. Matey Dragomirov Mateev ( Bulgarian: Матей Драгомиров Матеев) (10 April 1940 – 25 July 2010) was a Bulgarian professor in theoretical physics. He was a fellow of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Early life Mateev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. He studied nuclear physics at Sofia University where he became a research associate in the theoretical department. Career He worked at Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste (1967). He joined the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna (1971–1980) where he received a Doctor of Philosophy in physics ( Theoretical and Mathematical Physics) (1980). In 1981 he became an associate professor and later a professor (highest academic rank) in 1984. Matey Preobrazhenski
Father Matey Preobrazhenski ( bg, Матей Преображенски, " Matthew of the Transfiguration"; 1828–1 March 1875) was the clerical name of Mono Petrov Seizmonov (Моно Петров Сеизмонов), nicknamed Mitkaloto ("The Wandering One"), Ochmatey or Ochkata, a Bulgarian Orthodox priest, revolutionary, enlightener and a close friend of Vasil Levski. Father Matey was born in the village of Novo Selo near Veliko Tarnovo in 1828; his two brothers and sister died at an early age. Orphaned at age nine, he went to the Dryanovo Monastery to study tailoring. In 1846, he became a neophyte in the same monastery and a monk in the Transfiguration Monastery in 1848. In 1851, he visited the monasteries on Mount Athos and after a one-year stay went to Varna, Tulcea, the Holy Trinity Monastery near Tarnovo and the Troyan Monastery.
