Mateusinho
Mateus da Silva Duarte (born 7 October 1998), commonly known as Mateusinho, is a Brazilian professional soccer player who plays as a right back. His contract is suspended due to match-fixing. Club career Born in Magé, Rio de Janeiro, Mateusinho made his senior debut with CF Rio de Janeiro in the 2016 Campeonato Carioca Série C. After playing just one match for Serrano-RJ in the 2017 Campeonato Carioca Série B1, he moved to America-RJ ahead of the 2018 season, but played for the under-20 side. Mateusinho later played for Carioca Série C side in the remainder of the 2018 season, and remained more than a year without a club before being presented at Goytacaz in August 2020. On 8 February 2021, he joined Moto Club. In August 2021, Mateuzinho was announced in the squad of Tuntum for the year's Campeonato Maranhense Segunda Divisão. 2023 Brazilian Football Match-fixing Scandal
Operação Penalidade Máxima (literally ''Operation Maximum Penalty''), is an ongoing Brazilian football match-fixing scandal investigation being performed by the Public Ministry of Goiás. Overview On 14 February 2023, a criminal organization that operated to manipulate the results of football matches in Campeonato Brasileiro Série B of the Brazilian Championship was the target of an operation by the Public Ministry of the State of Goiás (MPGO). The investigation began with three matches from the Série B. All took place in the last round: Vila Nova 0–0 Sport Recife, Criciúma 2–0 Tombense and Sampaio Corrêa 2–1 Londrina. The scheme would have an estimated profit of R$ 2 million, if a penalty kick were committed in all three of them. Two of them had penalties, but no penalties occurred in the Vila Nova match, because the player who initially received R$10,000 to commit the penalty did not play the match. Sampaio Corrêa Futebol Clube, commonly referred to as Sampaio Corrêa, is a Brazilian professional club based in São Luís, Maranhão founded on 25 March 1923. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008.
