Materva
Materva is a mate-based soft drink, originally produced and popularized in Cuba prior to the Cuban Revolution. It has been produced in Miami since the 1960s by Cawy Bottling Company. Drink Materva is a carbonated drink made from yerba mate, a tea popular in Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay. Unlike the somewhat bitter tea-like mate on which it is based, Materva is sweet, with a flavor described as similar to ginger ale or cream soda. Yerba mate or yerba-maté (''Ilex paraguariensis''; from Spanish ; pt, erva-mate, or ; gn, ka'a, ) is a plant species of the holly genus ''Ilex'' native to South America. Club-Mate () is a caffeinated carbonated mate-extract beverage made by the Loscher Brewery (''Brauerei Loscher'') near Münchsteinach, Germany, which originated in 1924. Club-Mate has 200 mg of caffeine per litre. Club-Mate has a relatively low sugar content of 50 g per litre, and low calories (200 kcal per litre of beverage) compared to other beverages such as cola or most energy drinks. Ironbeer is a soft drink that originated in Cuba in 1917 and was created by Manuel Rabanal. It has been described as tasting like "a fruitier Dr Pepper" or like Ironport (beverage), Ironport soda. Coco Rico is a Puerto Rican soda brand from Coco Rico, Inc. It is flavored with coconut extract, and is produced in both plastic (polyethylene terephthalate or PET) bottles and aluminum cans. Matanzas (Cuban ) is the capital of the Cuban province of Matanzas.
