Mateo Jover
Mateo Jover () served as the Director of Research of the Interamerican Scout Office, Director of Development Education of the European Scout Office, and Director of Programme as well as Director of Prospective Studies and Documentation of the World Scout Bureau. Jover retired in March 1999. The same year, Jover was awarded the 273rd ''Bronze Wolf'', the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting. Interamerican Scout Office
The Interamerican Region is the divisional office of the World Scout Bureau of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, headquartered in Ciudad del Saber, Panama. The Interamerican Region services Scouting in the Western Hemisphere, both North America, North and South America. Until the 1960s, the "Inter-American Scout Advisory Committee" serviced only Mexico, Central and South America, with Canada and the United States serviced through the then-named "Boy Scouts International Bureau" in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Even today, the Interamerican Region exists more for the benefit of countries south of the Rio Grande, as evidenced by the website being only in Spanish until 2011; consequently, the Boy Scouts of America, United States and Scouts Canada, Canada did not participate as vigorously in regional activities as do other national organizations around the world, however this is changing in the 2010s. European Scout Office
The European Scout Region is one of six geographical subdivisions of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with a satellite office in Brussels, Belgium. Structure Members The European Scout Region comprises 40 National Scout Organizations that are members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, and services Scouting in Western Europe, Western and Central Europe, excluding the former Soviet republics (which comprise the Eurasian Scout Region (World Organization of the Scout Movement), Eurasian Scout Region, but inclusive, for cultural reasons, of Cyprus (technically not part of Europe, but a member-state of the European Union) and Turkey (which spans across two continents), and, as a member of the United Nations' Western European and Others Group, Israel (despite being part of Asia due to them being barred in its own continent's organizations under the Arab League boycott of Israel, Arab-led boycott).
