Matej Rudan
Matej Rudan (born 21 March 2001) is a Croatian professional basketball player who currently plays for Río Breogán of the Liga ACB. Early career Rudan started to play basketball with KK Omiš-Cagalj Tours Galeb. In 2015, he joined the youth system of his hometown team Cibona. Two years later, he moved to Germany to join the youth system of Bayern Munich. In August 2018, Rudan participated at the Basketball Without Borders Europe camp in Belgrade, Serbia. In February 2019, he participated at the Basketball Without Borders Global 5 camp in Charlotte, North Carolina. Following the 2018–19 Euroleague Adidas NGT, he was named to the All-Tournament Team. The ABA League, renamed to the ABA League First Division in 2017, is the 1st-tier regional men's professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualification (Europe)
The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Europe region, began in February 2020 and will conclude in February 2023. The process will determine the twelve teams that will qualify for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. On 9 December 2019, the World Anti-Doping Agency initially handed Russia a four-year ban from all major sporting events, after RUSADA was found non-compliant for handing over manipulating lab data and lying to investigators. WADA prohibited the use of the Russian flag and anthem at major international sporting events. However, the Russia national team could still enter qualification, as the ban only applied to the final tournament to decide the world champions. Croatian National Basketball Team
The Croatia men's national basketball team ( hr, Hrvatska košarkaška reprezentacija) represents Croatia in international basketball matches. The team is controlled by the Croatian Basketball Federation (HKS). The biggest success Croatia has achieved was at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics when the team reached the final against the United States and won the silver medal. Croatia has also won one bronze medal at the FIBA World Cup and two bronze medals at EuroBasket.
