Matando Güeros
''Matando Güeros'' (Killing ''Güeros'') is the debut album by the band Brujeria. "Güero" is a Mexican-Spanish slang term for a blonde or light skinned/haired person. The album talks mostly about controversial topics in Mexico like drug trafficking, satanic rituals, sexuality, migration, illegal border crossing, and Anti-Americanism (like the title song, that talks about a revenge killing-spree against the White Americans that mistreated the indigenous Mexican narrator). Album information The front cover depicts a person out of shot holding up a severed head, which was taken from Mexican Shocking and Sensationalistic/ Yellow journalistic newspaper '' ¡Alarma!'' The album was banned in many places due to its cover and content. This head, nicknamed "Coco Loco", has been taken by the band as a mascot and logo. Brujeria (band)
Brujeria () is an American extreme metal band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1989. The band has Spanish lyrics with topics such as Theistic Satanism, Satanism, Anti-Christian sentiment, anti-Christianity, sex, immigration, narcotics smuggling, and politics. Brujeria portrays Mexico, Mexican imagery, with several members being Hispanic and Latino Americans, while the band's name stands for ''brujería'' (Spanish for "witchcraft"). Raymond Herrera is an American musician and entrepreneur, best known as the former drummer and founding member of the heavy metal band Fear Factory. He is the former drummer for his previous band Brujeria and for industrial metal band Arkaea. He is a composer and producer of music for video games, television, feature films, and transmedia. Career His commercial album debut was Fear Factory's ''Soul of a New Machine'' in 1992. The band soon began a nearly two decade long recording and touring schedule including more than twelve commercial album releases and numerous world tours. William David Gould (born April 24, 1963 in Los Angeles, California) is an American musician and producer. He is best known as the bassist of Faith No More. Biography Early years Billy said he is of Hungarian descent from his father's side. Faith No More Gould started playing the bass while he was at Loyola High School in Los Angeles with future Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum. His first band during these early years was named "The Animated," a genre-bending new wave outfit that sounded something like a cross between The Buzzcocks, XTC and Michael Jackson. Shane Embury (born 27 November 1967) is a British bassist and a member of the grindcore and death metal band Napalm Death since 1987. Career Napalm Death While not a founding member, Embury is the longest standing member of the band, having taken part in the ''Scum'' tour, replacing previous bassist Jim Whitely in 1987. Dino Cazares (born in 1966) is an American musician, known for being the guitarist and one of the co-founders of industrial metal band Fear Factory. He is also the co-founder of the metal bands Divine Heresy, Asesino, and Brujeria. Cazares popularized the use of digital amp modelling processors, as well as the use of seven and eight-string guitars in metal music. Career Cazares met singer Burton C. Bell in 1989 and started a group under the name Ulceration, which was renamed to their current name Fear Factory in the following year with Raymond Herrera on drums.
