Bramham Gari Matham
Bramhamgari Matham is a village in Kadapa district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Brahmamgari Matham mandal of Badvel revenue division. It is a pilgrimage centre. The village is known as Sri Pothuluri Veera Brahmandra Swamy who entered into a samadhi alive in front of his disciples. He is considered to be the author of the ''Kālagnānaṁ'', a book of predictions. His prophetic texts are also known as the ''Govinda Vakyas''. Matam, Senegal
Matam (Hassaniya Arabic: ; Wolof: Mataam) is the capital town of the Matam Region in north-east Senegal, and lies on the Sénégal River on the border with Mauritania. In the census of 2002, Matam had 14,620 inhabitants. In 2007, according to official estimates, the population of the town had increased to 17,324. In 1996, the Upper Senegal River Valley, stretching from Matam to Diamou in Mali was cited as one of the poorest and most inaccessible regions in the western Sahel. The Mourning of Muharram (also known as Azadari, Remembrance of Muharram or Muharram Observances) is a set of commemoration rituals observed primarily by Shia people. The commemoration falls in Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. Many of the events associated with the ritual take place in congregation halls known as '' Hussainia or Imambargah''. The event marks the anniversary of the Battle of Karbala (AD 680/AH 61), when Imam Hussain ibn Ali, a grandson of Prophet Muhammad, was martyred by the forces of Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad, on the orders of Yazid I. Family members and companions accompanying him were either killed or subjected to humiliation.
