Mat Bruso
Mat Bruso (born 1983) is an American vocalist best known as the lead singer of the metalcore band Bury Your Dead. He joined the band in 2003, shortly before the band signed to Victory Records and released their debut full-length album '' You Had Me at Hello''. Bruso left the band in January 2007 to become a teacher, mainly working at Fowler Middle School in Maynard, Massachusetts. He taught science until 2018. Bruso is straight edge. Bruso worked with Four Year Strong for their first album, ''Rise or Die Trying'', providing additional vocals. He sang on "Chrono" on The Ghost Inside's album '' Returners'' and on the track "Goliath", on Catalepsy's album ''Bleed''. More recently, he appeared on the intro track of Kublai Khan's 2015 release ''New Strength'', entitled "Life for a Life" On January 17, 2011, it was announced that Bruso had rejoined Bury Your Dead. Bury Your Dead is an American metalcore band from Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 2001. The current lineup is guitarist Chris Towning, lead vocalist Mat Bruso, drummer Mark Castillo, and bassist Aaron Patrick. To date, they have had eight releases: one EP (''Bury Your Dead''), one live DVD (''Alive''), and six studio albums ('' You Had Me at Hello'', '' Cover Your Tracks'', '' Beauty and the Breakdown'', ''Bury Your Dead'', '' It's Nothing Personal'' and '' Mosh N' Roll''). ''Beauty and the Breakdown'' is an album by metalcore band Bury Your Dead. The album was released on July 11, 2006, on Victory Records. The artwork is akin to a storybook and the song titles are from fairy tales. Much like the group's second album, '' Cover Your Tracks'', this album has a theme to its song titles. All songs titles are inspired by children's tales, similar to the songs on ''Cover Your Tracks'', which are all Tom Cruise movie titles. The album is based on a woman and her abuser, as evidenced in the booklet that comes with the album. The album sold 7,039 copies in its first week of release entering the ''Billboard'' 200 at number 129.
