MasterChef Australia (series 4)
The fourth series of the Australian cooking game show ''MasterChef Australia'' premiered on Sunday, 6 May 2012 at 7.30pm on Network Ten. Judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston returned from the previous series. After the first week in Melbourne, the competition took the contestants to places nationally, such as Kangaroo Island and Tasmania, as well as the international destination, Italy. It also featured a number of guest chefs, including Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein and Buddy Valastro. The fourth series was won by Andy Allen who defeated Julia Taylor and Audra Morrice in the grand finale on 25 July 2012. Andy would later go on to be a judge on the show himself. Changes For the first time, the initial Top 50 portion of the show took place in and around Melbourne, Victoria. Matt Preston
Matt Preston (born 21 July 1961) is an English-Australian food critic, writer and television presenter. He is best known for his role as a judge on Network Ten's ''MasterChef Australia'' between 2009 and 2019, and for his weekly national food column that appears in NewsCorp's metro newspapers, with a combined reach of over 2.9 million Australians each week. Preston is also a senior editor for ''Delicious.'' and ''Taste'' magazines, and is also the author of four best-selling cookbooks. Career Preston is the son of British naval historian and journalist Antony Preston. He was born in London, United Kingdom, to a Roman Catholic family and from the age of 11 was educated at Worth School, a Benedictine monastic boarding school in West Sussex. The fourteenth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on 18 April 2022 on Network 10. The format for this season is ''Fans & Favourites'', and features 12 new contestants and 12 former contestants. Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, and Jock Zonfrillo returned to the show as judges from the previous season. In October 2021, Ten announced that ''MasterChef Australia'' would return for its 14th season in 2022, initially announced as ''Foodies Vs. Favourites''. In January 2022, production was temporarily halted after several members of the cast and production team contracted the COVID-19 virus. The tenth series of the Australian cooking game show '' MasterChef Australia'' premiered on 7 May 2018 on Network Ten. Judges Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston returned from the previous series, with Shannon Bennett as the contestants' mentor. This series was won by Billie McKay in the grand finale against Georgia Barnes on 27 July 2015. Andrew Peter Allen (born 30 April 1988) is an Australian cook. He is notable for winning the MasterChef Australia (season 4), fourth season of ''MasterChef Australia'' in 2012, and for being a judge on ''MasterChef Australia'' from MasterChef Australia (series 12), 2020.
