Massimiliano Sirena
Massimiliano "Max" Sirena (born 4 December 1971 in Rimini) is an Italian sailor who has competed in multiple America's Cups. Biography Sirena sailed with Luna Rossa Challenge in their 2000, 2003 and 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup campaigns as a mid-bowman. Sirena was the wing mast manager for Oracle Racing when they won the 2010 America's Cup. Sirena skippered Luna Rossa Challenge in the 2013 Louis Vuitton Cup. The team won the 2011 Extreme Sailing Series. After Luna Rossa withdrew from the 2017 America's Cup, Sirena joined Team New Zealand in a management role. AC75
The AC75 (America's Cup 75) is a racing yacht used in the 2021 America's Cup match and planned to be used for the 37th America's Cup and 38th America's Cup matches. The monohulls feature wing-like sailing hydrofoils mounted under the hull, a soft wingsail, and no keel. The rule Following the 2017 America's Cup, winners Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron accepted a notice of challenge from Circolo della Vela Sicilia stipulating a monohull would be used in 2021. Conceptual graphics of a monohull with soft sails and topside canting hydrofoils were released on 21 November 2017, and the first draft of the class rule was published by the defender and the challenger of record on 29 March 2018. Since the 1980s, Italy has been a serious challenge contender for the America's Cup. Italian teams have won the Challenger Selection Series three times: the Louis Vuitton Cup in 1992 with Il Moro di Venezia, in 2000 with Luna Rossa and the Prada Cup in 2021, again with Luna Rossa.
