Massachusetts State Senate
The Massachusetts Senate is the upper house of the Massachusetts General Court, the bicameral state legislature of the Commonwealth (U.S. state), Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Senate comprises 40 elected members from 40 single-member senatorial districts in the state. All but one of the districts are named for the counties in which they are located (the "Cape and Islands" district covers Dukes County, Massachusetts, Dukes, Nantucket County, Massachusetts, Nantucket, and parts of Barnstable County, Massachusetts, Barnstable counties). Senators serve two-year terms, without term limits in the United States, term limits. The Senate convenes in the Massachusetts State House, in Boston. Ashland is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. It is part of the MetroWest region. The population was 18,832 at the 2020 United States Census. History The area now known as Ashland was settled in the early 18th century and inhabited prior to that by the Megunko Native Americans, to which Megunko Hill owes its name.
