Masixole Banda
Masixole 'Coyi' Banda (born 11 June 1988) is a South African rugby union player for the in the Pro14. He can play as a fly-half, winger or fullback. Career Youth and amateur rugby Banda played his school rugby at Ithembelihle High School, New Brighton until 2010 under the tutelage of Theo Pieterse, who guided the school to being named the School Team of the Year in 2012. Banda was also named in the squad for the 2009 Under-19 Provincial Championship competition and played for them at Under-21 level during the 2010 and 2011 Under-21 Provincial Championship seasons, making six starts. He was also included in an side that played against the South Africa Under-20 side in 2011, scoring eleven points in a 31–16 defeat. Banda then joined club side African Bombers. Gqeberha (), formerly Port Elizabeth and colloquially often referred to as P.E., is a major seaport and the most populous city in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The 2014 Vodacom Cup was played between 7 March and 16 May 2014 and was the 17th edition of this annual domestic cup competition. This edition of the Vodacom Cup was played between fourteen provincial rugby union teams in South Africa from the Currie Cup Premier and First Divisions, as well as the and from Kenya. Competition There were sixteen teams participating in the 2014 Vodacom Cup competition. These teams were geographically divided into two sections, with eight teams in each section. Teams played all the teams in their section once over the course of the season, either at home or away. Teams received four log points for a win and two points for a draw. Bonus log points were awarded to teams that scored four or more tries in a game, as well as to teams that lost a match by seven points or less. 2013 SARU Community Cup
The 2013 SARU Community Cup (known as the ''2013 Cell C Community Cup'' for sponsorship reasons) was the first season of the SARU Community Cup competition and was contested from 16 February to 1 April 2013. The tournament is the top competition for non-university rugby union clubs in South Africa. Competition Format Twenty teams qualified for the Community Cup from the club leagues of the fourteen provincial unions in South Africa. The league winners all qualified, as well as six wildcard teams chosen by SARU. The format of the Community Cup was exactly the same as the Rugby World Cup. New Brighton is a township in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. It forms part of the greater township of Ibhayi and the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality which governs Port Elizabeth and its surroundings. History It was established in 1902, and was the first officially black residential area in the greater Port Elizabeth area.
