Masina, Kinshasa
Masina is a municipality (''commune'') in the Tshangu district of Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is bordered by the Pool Malebo in the north and ''Boulevard Lumbumba'' to the south. Masina shelters within it the '' Marché de la Liberté "M’Zee Laurent-Désiré Kabila''”, one of the largest markets of Kinshasa, which was built under the presidency of Laurent-Désiré Kabila to repay the inhabitants of the district of Tshangu who had resisted the rebels in August 1998. The area is known by the nickname "'' Chine Populaire''" ("People's China"). Geography Masina, together with the communes of Ndjili and Kimbanseke, belong to the district of Tshangu 20 km east of central Kinshasa. Masina is a village in the Jhalda I CD block in the Jhalda subdivision of the Purulia district in the state of West Bengal, India. Geography Location Masina is located at . Area overview Purulia district forms the lowest step of the Chota Nagpur Plateau. The general scenario is undulating land with scattered hills. Jhalda subdivision, shown in the map alongside, is located in the western part of the district, bordering Jharkhand. The Subarnarekha flows along a short stretch of its western border. The Caliphate of Hamdullahi ( ar, خلافة حمد الله; also: Dina of Massina, Sise Jihad state) commonly known as the Massina empire (also spelled ''Maasina'' or ''Macina'') was an early nineteenth-century Fulbe Jihad state centered in the Inner Niger Delta area of what is now the Mopti and Ségou Regions of Mali. Its capital was at Hamdullahi. History The Fulas of the region had for centuries been the vassals of larger states, including the Mali Empire (13th-14th centuries), the Songhai Empire (15th century), the Moroccan pashas of Tomboctou (16th century), and the Bambara Empire at Ségou (17th century). Adam Masina (; born 2 January 1994) is a Moroccan professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Italian club Udinese and the Morocco national team. Coming through Bologna's youth academy, Masina made his senior appearance with the club in 2012, and transferred to Watford in 2018. He was also loaned to Giacomense twice. Masina was born in Morocco, and moved to Italy at a young age. He initially represented Italy internationally at under-21 level, before opting to play for the Morocco national team since 2021.
