Masi Marjamäki
Masi Marjamäki (born January 16, 1985) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who most recently played for Cardiff Devils in the UK EIHL. He previously iced for Piráti Chomutov of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). Playing career Marjamäki, a 6'2" 205 pound left wing, was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins as the 66th overall pick in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. However, he never came to terms with the Bruins and re-entered the draft in 2005, where he was the 144th overall pick by the New York Islanders. He played his junior hockey first in his hometown Porin Ässät before moving over the ocean to the Red Deer Rebels and the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL before becoming professional in the 2005–2006 season. The New York Islanders (colloquially known as the Isles) are a professional ice hockey team based in Elmont, New York. The Red Deer Rebels are a Western Hockey League junior ice hockey team based in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. The Rebels play at the Peavey Mart Centrium. History A "Name the Team" contest ran in Red Deer from October 7 to 17, 1991. The top three ideas from the over 1000 entries were "Rebels", "Renegades", and "Centurions". Team management chose the name "Rebels". On February 5, 1992, the Rebels selected Mike McBain as their first player in the Bantam Draft. The Rebels' first game was on September 25, 1992, in Red Deer against the Prince Albert Raiders (the Rebels won 6 to 3 in front of 5,240 fans). The Blackfalds Bulldogs is a junior "A" ice hockey team that plays in the South Division of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) based in Blackfalds, Alberta, Canada. Kirk Frederick Maltby (born December 22, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings, the latter with whom he won the Stanley Cup four times.
