Masi-Manimba is a town in Kwilu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo, the headquarters of the Masi-Manimba Territory. As of 2012 the population was estimated to be 31,802. The town lies on the Lukula River, a tributary of the Kwilu River. It is on the road between Kenge to the west and Kikwit to the east. Masi-Manimba is served by Masi-Manimba Airport (MSM), with a runway length of and an altitude of . The area was led by Anne Mbusu who was the administrator appointed by former President Joseph Kabila Kabang. She was one of the women entrusted with such a role in the DRC. Anne Mbusu
Anne Mbusu Ngulu (born 20th century) was appointed as an Democratic Republic of the Congo administrator for the territory of Masi-Manimba. Life Anne Mbusu who was the administrator appointed by former President Joseph Kabila Kabang to manage the territory of Masi-Manimba. She was one of the women entrusted with such a role in the DRC. The town elects seven national deputies and the majority recently were from the Unified Lumumbist Party. Mbusu faced the problem of an outbreak of a disease, peste des petits ruminants, that killed thousands of the local goats. She also realised that there was malnutrition in her territory and she arranged for external help in tackling the problem in 2012. Kwilu Province
Kwilu is a province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It's one of the 21 provinces created in the 2015 repartitioning. Kwilu, Kwango, and Mai-Ndombe provinces are the result of the dismemberment of the former Bandundu province. Kwilu was formed from the Kwilu district and the independently administered cities of Bandundu and Kikwit. Bandundu is the provincial capital. The province takes its name from the Kwilu River, which crosses it from south to north. Lukula is a town in, and a territory of Kongo Central province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Kwilu River is a major river in the Kwilu Province formerly known as Bandundu province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to the city of Bandundu, where it joins the Kwango River just before this stream enters the Kasai River. Kikwit
Kikwit is the largest city of Kwilu Province, lying on the Kwilu River in the southwestern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kikwit is also known in the region under the nickname "The Mother". The population is approximately 458,000 (2017). An important commercial centre, it is home to a stadium and is known for its traditional dances, in particular the Bapende dancers whose geographic origin centers on the village of Gungu. Bapende dancers often wear traditional costumes comprising colorful masks and attire made from raffia. Kikwit is also home to an airport (Kikwit Airport) and is connected to the capital Kinshasa by a new road and river transport. In 1995 the city saw a serious outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus. Singer King Kester Emeneya was born in Kikwit in 1956.
