Mashariki Africa Film Festival (MAFF) is a Rwandan-based film event that highlights and awards films by Africans and African diaspora. The first edition of the festival was in 2015. Tiktok (film)
''Tiktok'' is a 2015 Ugandan silent short film written and directed by Usama Mukwaya. The movie features single actor Patriq Nkakalukanyi as Sam. It is Usama's first film under his film company O Studios Entertainment and is his first film as a writer, director and producer. The film premiered at the inaugural Mashariki African Film Festival and received a nomination for best short film. Plot After being appointed to a new job, Sam (protagonist) begins his much-anticipated first day at work. He arrives, but this time around with precautions to manage his previously disorganized self. He drafts a new set of guidelines to help him improve and break out of his bad past habits, only to realize that some of the guidelines at work are against him. When he finally maneuvers through the preparation tasks, towards exiting the house, he notices that neighbors have been waiting for him on the door to join them to go for church service. Usama Mukwaya
Usama () "Osam" Nyanzi Mukwaya (born 12 December 1989) is a Ugandan screenwriter, film director, producer, actor and former television host. His major films include ''Bala Bala Sese'', directed by Lukyamuzi Bashir with which Mukwaya is credited as the film's writer and producer. The film was nominated at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Film in an African Language. He launched his filmmaking career with the short film ''Hello'' that won overall best film in the 2010 MNFPAC Students Awards. His directorial debut is ''Love Faces'' which was released in January 2018. From 2018-2022, Usama served as chief content officer for Stream Afrique, a subscription-based streaming platform which offers online streaming of majorly African content. Françoise Ellong
Françoise Ellong (born 8 February 1988) is a Cameroonian film director and writer. Biography Ellong was born in Douala, Cameroon in 1988. At the age of 11, she moved to Brunoy to live with an uncle, and she wrote her first story. Ellong participated in a contest for young French-speaking writers in 2002. As a result of the contest, she developed an interest in screenwriting. In 2006, her first short film, ''Les Colocs'', was released. Ellong directed her first feature film, ''W.A.K.A'', in 2013. It was written by Séraphin Kakouang, based on an original story by Ellong. Moussa Toure (born June 19, 1985, in Monrovia, Liberia) is a Liberian footballer, who currently plays for Minnesota Twin Stars. Career Toure appeared in 12 games for the Minnesota Twin Stars of the National Premier Soccer League in 2008, scoring five goals. In 2009, he was capped seven times by the Atlanta Blackhawks of the PDL, netting three goals.
