Mascouche () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in southern Quebec, Canada. The city is located on the Mascouche River within the Les Moulins Regional County Municipality and has a population of 51,183, ranking 20th among Quebec municipalities. The name comes from Algonquin word meaning "bear plain" in singular. Compare plural form to for the Les Maskoutains Regional County Municipality located nearby. History Mascouche (Then known as Saint-Henri-de-Mascouche ) received city status on December 9, 1970, under mayor Gilles Forest. Mount Royal Park
Mount Royal (french: link=no, Mont Royal, ) is a large intrusive rock hill or small mountain in the city of Montreal, immediately west of Downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The best-known hypothesis for the origin of the name Montreal is the hill is the namesake for the city. The hill is part of the Monteregian Hills situated between the Laurentians and the Appalachian Mountains. It gave its Latin name, ''Mons Regius'', to the Monteregian chain. Mascouche Line
Mascouche (also designated exo5, known during planning as Repentigny–Mascouche) is a commuter railway line in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by Exo, the organization that operates public transport services across this region. Opened on December 1, 2014, by Exo's predecessor agency, the Agence Métropolitaine de transport (AMT), the Montreal region's sixth commuter train line required the construction of 10 new train stations, several civil engineering structures and 13 km of new railway track. This includes some track in the median of the A 640 between Repentigny and Mascouche. Beginning on May 11, 2020, the Mascouche line was rerouted around the Mount Royal Tunnel, bypassing and stations due to the construction of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM). Autoroute 25 (or A-25, also called Autoroute Louis-H.-La Fontaine in Montreal) is an Autoroute in the Lanaudière region of Quebec. It is currently long and services the direct north of Montreal's Metropolitan Area. A-25 has one toll bridge, which is the first modern toll in the Montreal area and one of two overall in Quebec (after being joined by the A-30 toll bridge, which opened in 2012). Autoroute 640 (or A-640) is a Quebec autoroute that runs across the North Shore Region (paralleling the Rivière des Mille-Îles) from Route 344 in the Oka area to Route 138, where it ends as a four-lane expressway in Charlemagne. Montréal/Mascouche Airport, formerly , was a small, general aviation airport located southeast of Mascouche and approximately northeast of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was reached by Autoroute 640 at exit 44. The runway was parallel to Autoroute 640. Montréal/Mascouche Airport closed 15 November 2016 and all aircraft had to be removed by 13 November. A radio equipped aircraft was required to fly in and out of Mascouche Airport. The mandatory frequency for the airport was 122.35 MHz. Mascouche Airport was the largest "regional airport" in the province of Quebec, in terms of air traffic. It was located close to the Le Gardeur regional hospital and could be used for medical evacuations.
