Masashige Narusawa
Masashige Narusawa ( ja, 成沢昌茂, ''Narusawa Masashige''; 29 January 1925 – 13 February 2021) was a Japanese screenwriter and director. Biography Narusawa was best known for writing screenplays for the last films of director Kenji Mizoguchi, including ''The Woman in the Rumor'', ''Princess Yang Kwei Fei'', '' Shin Heike Monogatari'', and ''Street of Shame''. He directed six films and wrote over 80 screenplays between 1949 and 1975. Masashige Narusawa died in Tokyo on 13 February 2021 at the age of 96. The Wild Geese (1953 Film)
is a 1953 Japanese drama film directed by Shirō Toyoda. The film is based on Mori Ōgai's novel of the same name. Hideko Takamine stars as Otama, a young woman who becomes the mistress of a married man in order to support her aging father. Plot Otama is a young woman who has previously been married, though the man turned out to already have been married with a wife and child. Because of this Otama is considered a disgrace and finding a good match near impossible. Feeling pressure to support her father who is frail, aging, and works to support them both by selling candy, Otama agrees to have dinner with a widowed kimono merchant who has offered to keep Otama as his mistress. Unbeknown to her, Suezō, the man she has agreed to meet, is in fact a still married moneylender and the arrangement between them has been set up to settle some debts of the matchmaker. The Scent Of Incense
is a 1964 Japanese drama film based on a novel by Sawako Ariyoshi and directed by Keisuke Kinoshita. Screened in two parts, it was one of Kinoshita's last cinema productions before working mainly for television. Plot Spanning in time from the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905) to the post World War II era, ''The Scent of Incense'' depicts the ongoing conflicts in the troubled relationship between Tomoko and her mother Ikuyo. Ikuyo, who is about to remarry, leaves Tomoko with her grandmother Tsuna, only to sell her to a geisha house after Tsuna's death. When the women meet again, Ikuyo has herself turned to prostitution. Black Lizard (film)
is a 1968 Japanese film directed by Kinji Fukasaku. The film is based on a play by Yukio Mishima which in turn is based on a novel by Rampo Edogawa. The play had previously been adapted to film in 1962 by director Umetsugu Inoue. Plot Shobei Iwase is a jeweler whose daughter Sanae works as a hostess at a club. Mrs. Midorikawa visits Sanae and introduces her to Yamakawa, young businessman from Tokyo. When they visit his room to look at a wedding doll, he chloroforms Sanae and stuffs her into a trunk. Detective Akechi explains that Yamakawa was actually a depressed man named Junichi Amamiya who was convinced by Black Lizard to kidnap Sanae.
