Marşandiz Yard ( tr, Marşandiz deposu), also known as the Ankara Railway Factory ( tr, Ankara Demiryolu Fabrikası), is a large mixed-use rail yard and maintenance facility in Ankara, Turkey. The sprawling complex consists of two rail yards, one for freight and one for passenger trains, a large maintenance facility consisting of locomotive and railcar maintenance and repair shops, freight warehouses and also houses the TCDD District 2 General Headquarters, along with other administrative facilities. The yard is the largest rail complex in Turkey, covering about . Located in the industrial Bahçekapı neighborhood in Etimesgut, it is situated along the Istanbul-Ankara railway; Marşandiz station is served by Başkentray commuter trains. Ankara Station
Ankara railway station ( tr, Ankara Garı) is the main railway station in Ankara, Turkey, and is a major transportation hub within the city. The station is the eastern terminus of the Istanbul-Ankara railway corridor, as well as the easternmost station in Turkey with high-speed rail service. Ankara station is also a hub for YHT high-speed trains, with its own exclusive platforms and concourse. TCDD E52500 is a series of electric locomotives used by the Turkish State Railways, comprising 22 class 441-9 locomotives leased from Željeznice Federacije Bosne i Hercegovine in Bosnia-Herzegovina. They are used throughout the electrified parts of the Turkish rail network. The locomotives have a power output of 3,860 kW and are capable of 120, 140 or 160 km/h speed depending on the version. The Etimesgut High-speed rail maintenance facility ( tr, Etimesgut Yüksek Hızlı Tren ana bakım deposu), officially known as the Main High-speed rail Maintenance Facility ( tr, YHT Ana Bakım Deposu), is a passenger rail yard used exclusively for YHT high-speed train-sets in Ankara, Turkey. Located in the Etiler neighborhood in northwestern Etimesgut, it is the second largest rail yard in Turkey spanning over . The yard contains a large high-speed rail maintenance shop together with a high-speed rail focused training facility for employees. A wide turning loop, facing east, spans the perimeter of the facility. Yüksek Hızlı Tren or YHT ( en, High Speed Train) is a high-speed rail service in Turkey, operated by TCDD Taşımacılık, and is the railway's premier intercity train service. As of 2022, the network spans and services major cities like Istanbul, Ankara, Eskişehir, İzmit and Konya. Expansion of the system is underway and the network is expected to reach Sivas, Edirne, Afyonkarahisar, Adana and İzmir in the 2020s. Ulus, Ankara
Ulus is a quarter in Ankara, Turkey and is located at the center of the capital city. It was once the heart of old Ankara. The name means "tribe, nation" in Turkish.
