Don (honorific), Doña María Tomasa Palafox y Portocarrero, Marquise of Villafranca and Duchess of Medina-Sidonia, Medina Sidonia (1780–1835), was a patron and muse of the painter Francisco de Goya y Lucientes and the wife of Francisco de Borja Álvarez de Toledo, 12th Marquis of Villafranca. In his famous painting, Goya portrays the Marchioness de Villafranca as an artist with brush and maulstick in her hand. Prince of Belmonte ( it, Principe di Belmonte; es, Príncipe de Belmonte) is a noble title created in 1619 by the Spanish crown for the Barons of Badolato and Belmonte. The name of the title is taken from the fortress town of Belmonte in Calabria, historically important for the defence of the Italian coast from Saracen invasion.
