María Natividad Venegas De La Torre
María Natividad Venegas de la Torre (8 September 1868 – 30 July 1959) was a Mexican Roman Catholic nun. Torre established the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Guadalajara (in latin ''Congregationem Sororum Filiarum Sacri Cordis Iesu'') and assumed the new name of "María of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament" in 1930. She joined the Association of the Daughters of Mary on 8 December 1898 and later went on to establish her own small community of women who were devoted to the care of the sick. She served as a nurse throughout her life and in her own order that she founded for the purpose of catering to the needs of the ill; she was named Superior General in 1921. Zapotlanejo
Zapotlanejo is a town and municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco. According to the 2020 census, there were 63,634 inhabitants in the municipality. The municipality has a territorial extension of 643.02 km2. Toponymy Zapotlanejo is a hybrid word, half Nahuatl and half Spanish language, Spanish. The Nahuatl word "Sapote" (from Nahuatl tzapotl) is a term for a soft, edible fruit and "tlan" (place). In addition, the name of the municipality includes the Spanish ending indicating locality "ejo." In the Catholic Church, the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints, previously named the Congregation for the Causes of Saints (), is the dicastery of the Roman Curia that oversees the complex process that leads to the canonization of saints, passing through the steps of a declaration of "heroic virtues" and beatification. After preparing a case, including the approval of miracles, the case is presented to the pope, who decides whether or not to proceed with beatification or canonization. History The predecessor of the congregation was the Sacred Congregation for Rites, founded by Pope Sixtus V on 22 January 1588 in the bull '' Immensa Aeterni Dei''. Heroic virtue is a phrase coined by Augustine of Hippo to describe the virtue of early Christian martyrs and used by the Catholic Church. The Greek pagan term hero described a person with possibly superhuman abilities and great goodness, and "it connotes a degree of bravery, fame, and distinction which places a man high above his fellows".Catholic Encyclopedia of 1917 The term was later applied to other highly virtuous persons who do extraordinary good works. The Venerable (''venerabilis'' in Latin) is a style, a title, or an epithet which is used in some Western Christian churches, or it is a translation of similar terms for clerics in Eastern Orthodoxy and monastics in Buddhism.
