María José Castillo
María José Castillo (born August 11, 1990) is a Costa Rican singer. She is best known for her participation in ''Latin American Idol''. On the show she ended as the runner-up, losing to Margarita Henríquez. Her debut album, "María José", was released on November 25, 2008. The album was successful, debuting on the Costa Rican Top 10 albums on position 5. Its lead single, "Abre Tu Corazón", entered the Costa Rican Top 40 at position 3. Heredia () is a district in the Heredia canton of Heredia province, Costa Rica. Margarita Esther Henríquez Rodríguez (born April 17, 1991) is the winner of the third season of ''Latin American Idol'', which she won on October 9, 2008. Biography Henríquez became the youngest contestant to win and the third one since Carlos Peña. Henríquez beat the runner up María José Castillo for the title. She released her first album under the Sony BMG label on December 1, 2008. It has been very successful in Panama. It contains six songs that she performed during the TV Show. Background and promotion The single was set to be released on a CD single, but due to the failure of Castillo's "María José" internationally it was cancelled. The CD single was set to include the album version of the song, the instrumental version, the a cappella version, her second single "Vuela" and others. Even that the release was cancelled, a fan made version of the CD single is often found by fans.
