Alfonso XIII (17 May 1886 – 28 February 1941), also known as El Africano or the African, was King of Spain from 17 May 1886 to 14 April 1931, when the Second Spanish Republic was proclaimed. Eduardo Dato e Iradier (12 August 1856 – 8 March 1921) was a Spanish political leader during the Restoration (Spain), Spanish Restoration period. He served three times as Prime Minister of Spain, Spanish prime minister: from 27 October 1913 to 9 December 1915, from 11 June 1917 to 3 November 1917, and from 28 April 1920 until his assassination by Catalonia, Catalan anarchists.
