Marymount Primary School () is a Catholic primary school currently located on Tai Hang Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The secondary school arm is Marymount Secondary School. Map Tel: 2572 8728 Fax: 2572 4131 History The school, originally known as Holy Spirit School, was founded by the Maryknoll Sisters, an American religious order, on 10January 1927 in Hong Kong. Back then, the school was on Robinson Road in Central Mid-levels. There were only eight classes of students sharing four small classrooms. In the 1930s, the school moved to a slightly larger building in Caine Road. There were seven classrooms, but conditions were still cramped by today’s standards. By 1941, the school was offering a complete course leading to matriculation, and so was one of only a small handful of schools at that time which prepared girls for university. Tai Hang Road
Tai Hang Road () is a major road on the north side of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. Starting low from Tai Hang at Tung Lo Wan Road, Causeway Bay, it winds up to So Kon Po and further up to the mid-levels of Jardine's Lookout and Mount Nicholson, passing through Wong Nai Chung Gap. This is a road along which there are a number of luxurious residential apartments, such as Illumination Terrace, Grand Deco Tower and YI, where many affluent upper-middle/ upper-class families call home. Columban Sisters
Columbanus ( ga, Columbán; 543 – 21 November 615) was an Irish missionary notable for founding a number of monasteries after 590 in the Frankish and Lombard kingdoms, most notably Luxeuil Abbey in present-day France and Bobbio Abbey in present-day Italy. Columbanus taught an Irish monastic rule and penitential practices for those repenting of sins, which emphasised private confession to a priest, followed by penances levied by the priest in reparation for the sins. Columbanus is one of the earliest identifiable Hiberno-Latin writers. Sources Most of what we know about Columbanus is based on Columbanus' own works (as far as they have been preserved) and Jonas of Susa's ''Vita Columbani'' (''Life of Columbanus''), which was written between 639 and 641. Angela Au Man-sze (born 25 January 1983) is a Hong Kong singer and radio disk/web jockey. A former member of the cantopop group, ''Cookies'', she had previously been a student and part-time model. She entered a singing contest held by Yes!/EMI to enter Cookies, then left Cookies and entered Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK radio 2) in 2003. Agnes Meiling Kaneko Chan (; Japanese: 金子 陳美齢, ''Kaneko Chan Meirin'') is a Hong-Kong-born Japanese singer, television personality, university professor, essayist and novelist. Since 1998, Chan has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and supports the Japan Committee for UNICEF. In Japan she is professionally known as Agnes Chan (アグネス・チャン), Agnes being her Christian name. Blue Pool Road is a road linking Happy Valley and Wong Nai Chung Gap on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Location Blue Pool Road is divided into two sections. The first and longest section starts at Wong Nai Chung Road, opposite the southeastern part of Happy Valley Racecourse and continues uphill, until a roundabout at Tai Hang Road. The second section starts Tai Hang Road and continues uphill and ends in a dead end. History The road was previously occupied by Wong Nai Chung Village (黃泥涌村), which was settled by the Ngs (吳) and Yips (葉), both Hakkas from the Mainland, before British Colonization on Hong Kong Island.
