Maryland Route 713
Maryland Route 713 (MD 713) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. The highway runs from an entrance to Fort George G. Meade north to MD 176 in Hanover. In addition to serving as an access point to the U.S. Army installation, MD 713 provides the primary access to the Arundel Mills regional shopping mall and the Live! Casino & Hotel. MD 713 was constructed as part of MD 175 in the late 1920s and received its present designation in the mid-1940s. The northern end of the highway was relocated in the mid-1990s for the construction of MD 100 and modified again when Arundel Mills was built a few years later. One of MD 713's auxiliary routes connects the mall and casino with MD 295 via the first diverging diamond interchange in Maryland. Fort George G. Meade is a United States Army installation located in Maryland, that includes the Defense Information School, the Defense Media Activity, the United States Army Field Band, and the headquarters of United States Cyber Command, the National Security Agency, the Defense Courier Service, Defense Information Systems Agency headquarters, and the U.S. Navy's Cryptologic Warfare Group Six. Dumbbell Interchange
A diamond interchange is a common type of road junction, used where a controlled-access highway crosses a minor road. Design The freeway itself is grade-separated from the minor road, one crossing the other over a bridge. Approaching the interchange from either direction, an off-ramp diverges only slightly from the freeway and runs directly across the minor road, becoming an on-ramp that returns to the freeway in similar fashion. The two places where the ramps meet the road are treated as conventional intersections. In the United States, where this form of interchange is very common, particularly in rural areas, traffic on the off-ramp typically faces a stop sign at the minor road, while traffic turning onto the freeway is unrestricted. Joe Cannon (baseball)
Joseph Jerome Cannon (born July 13, 1953) is a former outfielder in Major League Baseball. Born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, he grew up in Anne Arundel County in Maryland. Cannon was a first round draft pick by the Houston Astros in 1974 out of Pensacola State College. Cannon spent parts of four seasons in the majors with the Astros and the Toronto Blue Jays. Upon his retirement as a player, Cannon became a minor league coach and manager. He managed for 11 seasons in the Toronto, Atlanta, and Houston organizations, taking the Lexington Legends to their first championship in their inaugural season in 2001. His most recent baseball job, 2007-2009, was as the field coach for the Frederick Keys, the Carolina League affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Joe Cannon Stadium
Joe Cannon Stadium is a baseball stadium in Hanover, Maryland. It is the home field of the Coppin State Eagles baseball team of the Division I Northeast Conference. It was also formerly the home field of the Baltimore Dodgers of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, a collegiate summer baseball league. Joe Cannon Stadium also plays host to many high school and amateur league games. The stadium holds 1,500 spectators. It is named after former Laurel, Maryland resident M.
