Maryam (2021 Film)
''Maryam'' is a 2021 Maldivian political thriller film directed by Ibrahim Wisan. Produced by Hassan Shazil, Ahmed Zareer and Ibrahim Wisan under Ehkaaf Production, the film stars Mariyam Majudha in titular role while Ahmed Saeed, Ali Azim, Ali Shazleem and Roanu Hassan Manik feature in pivotal roles of the film. It narrates the journey of an ordinary woman to dethrone an influential politician representing her constituency. Ibrahim Wisan
Ibrahim Wisan (born 27 February 1977), nicknamed as Kandi is a Maldivian cinematographer, actor and director. Career In 1996, Wisan starred in Mohamed Rasheed's '' Hifehettumeh Neiy Karuna'' opposite Niuma Mohamed, Abdul Raheem and Arifa Ibrahim. He again collaborated with Arifa Ibrahim for her drama film '' Dhauvaa'', an unofficial remake of Deepak Sareen's Bollywood film '' Aaina'' (1993), where he reprised the role played by Deepak Tijori in the original. After working as a cinematographer in Easa Shareef's horror classic '' Fathis Handhuvaru'' (1997), Wisan was offered the role behind camera for several other films. Mariyam Majudha
Mariyam Majudha (born 18 March 1988) is a Maldivian film actress. Career Majudha made her film debut in the Aishath Fuad Thaufeeq-directed ''Hulhudhaan'' as Sama (2014) alongside Roanu Hassan Manik, which was a critical success. The film was later screened at the Venice Film Festival. Her performance as Sama, a drug addict, received a positive response from the critics. The following year, she appeared in the Ali Shifau-directed romantic film '' Emme Fahu Vindha Jehendhen'' opposite Mohamed Jumayyil, where she portrayed the role of Meera. The film, along with Majudha's acting, was critically acclaimed. Ahmed Saeed (actor)
Ahmed Saeed is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 1997–2010: Debut and early releases On 13 June 1997, Saeed made his screen debut in a video single alongside Hassan Afeef and Mariyam Nisha. Afterwards, he played a role in Yoosuf Rafeeu's ''Dhiriulhumakee Mieebaa?''. He made his official film debut in Fathimath Nahula's debut direction '' Fahuneyvaa'' (1998), starring opposite Hussain Sobah, Jamsheedha Ahmed and Mariyam Nisha which portrays the love-conflict of a man between a prominent stage performer and a deaf-mute poor girl. Saeed played the role of Ahmed, a childhood friend of Ziyan who secretly marries two girls. Ali Azim
Ali Azim is a Maldivian film actor. Career 2010–2016: Early releases Azim expressed his interest in acting at a very young age. Before he pursued a career in acting Azim worked as a dancer and stage performer. He was first recognized by the audience for his facial expressions while dancing. While working in the Animation Dance Group, the team made a short children's film ''Lollypop'' with "no serious intention but for entertainment". The film which features Azim in a "forgettable" role did not much help to accelerate his career. Ali Shazleem is a Maldivian film actor, director and producer. Career Shazleem made his film debut in the Aishath Fuad Thaufeeq-directed '' Hulhudhaan'' (2014) alongside Mariyam Majudha, which was a critical success. Roanu Hassan Manik
Roanu Hassan Manik is a widely acclaimed Maldivian film actor, who mainly works in the Maldivian film industry. Early life On 11 November 1977, while working as a Headmaster at educational centre, Manik produced, choreographed and starred in a theatre play, ''Vamundhaa Goiyy'' alongside his students which narrates the discrimination of locals moving from atolls to Male'. Afterwards he worked in several other theatre performances before making his screen debut in Musthafa Hussain-directed ''Gellunu Furaavaru'' (1980). Distributed through Television Maldives, Manik's talent was recognized by the producers and he was offered several films like ''Karudhaas Finifenmaa'' and ''Zaharu Dhin Ufaa'' which ultimately did not materialize.
