Mary Whipple
Mary Rebecca Whipple (born May 10, 1980, in Sacramento, California, United States) is an American coxswain. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics and at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She won a gold medal in women's eight at both competitions. She also competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics where she won a silver medal. As a coxswain, Whipple stands and weighs in at . As a freshman at the University of Washington, Mary coxed the women's varsity four to a national title in 1999. She coxed the varsity eight to victory at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2000, taking home the first-ever Henley Prize, while also coxing them to a silver medal in the NCAA championships as part of a second-place finish in the team standings that year. Lindsay Shoop
Lindsay Shoop (born September 25, 1981) is an Americans, American rowing (sport), rower. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she won a gold medal in women's eight. She rowed at the University of Virginia (UVA). Shoop was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. In the spring semester of her junior year at UVA, Shoop joined the rowing team, an event that marked the beginning of her career as a rower. After graduating with a degree in Spanish (and a minor in art history), she competed at UVA for three spring seasons. In 2004, she moved to Princeton, New Jersey to train with the national team coaches. After spending the first 8 months at the training center rowing a single, she eventually moved back into sweep boats in the spring of 2005. Caroline Lind (born October 11, 1982) is an American rower, and is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. At the end of 2014 she was ranked the #1 female rower by International Rowing Federation. Rowing career Lind won gold in the Women's eight for the US in the 2012 Olympics and 2008 Olympics. She has been a member of the W8+ boat in World competitions since 2006. Anna P. Goodale (born March 18, 1983) is an American rower. She has rowed on four world championship U.S. women’s eight crews and competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she won a gold medal in women's eight. Early life and education Anna Goodale was born to Martha Derbyshire and Nat Goodale in Montville, Maine. She spent most of her time on a sheep farm and was homeschooled until age nine. Goodale is a great-great-granddaughter of James H. Smith Jr. and Pauline Sabin and of Yale athlete Tom Shevlin. Zsuzsanna "Susan" Francia ( hu, Francia Zsuzsanna; born November 8, 1982) is a Hungarian-American two time Olympic gold medalist rower. Growing up in Abington, Pennsylvania, she attended Abington Senior High School, followed by the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2004 with bachelor's and a master's degrees in Criminology and Sociology. Anna Cummins ( née Mickelson, March 21, 1980) is an American rower who won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the women's eight. Erin Jane Cafaro (born June 9, 1983, in Modesto, California) is an American rower. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, where she won a gold medal in the women's eight. At the 2012 London Olympics she won her second consecutive gold medal in the women's eight. Career Cafaro began her rowing career as a novice at the University of California, Berkeley in 2001. She went on to make the NCAA team her freshman year, and to win the Women's NCAA Rowing Championships in both 2005 and 2006. In the summer of 2005, Cafaro competed for US Rowing U23 Team in the Women's 4- at the Amsterdam, Netherlands FISA U23 World Championships, where the team won gold.
