Mary Throne
Mary Ann Throne (born c. 1960) is a Democratic former member of the Wyoming House of Representatives, representing the 11th district from 2007 until 2017. In August 2017, Throne announced her candidacy for Governor of Wyoming in the 2018 election. She easily won the Democratic primary on August 21, 2018. On November 6, 2018, she was defeated in the general election by Republican State Treasurer Mark Gordon. Biography Throne was born and raised in Campbell County, Wyoming on a ranch on Wild Horse Creek. She graduated with an A.B. in history from Princeton University in 1982 after completing a senior thesis titled "Wyoming Water Laws, 1888-1910: Public Ownership of Water for Irrigation Use." She then received a law degree from Columbia Law School. After college she spent two years volunteering in Thailand, and then moved back to Wyoming to work as an Assistant Wyoming Attorney General in the state, serving in that role from 1992 to 1999. Wyoming House Of Representatives
The Wyoming House of Representatives is the lower house of the Wyoming State Legislature. There are 60 Representatives in the House, representing an equal number of single-member constituent districts across the state, each with a population of at least 9,000. The House convenes at the Wyoming State Capitol in Cheyenne. Members of the House serve two year terms without term limits. Term limits were declared unconstitutional by the Wyoming Supreme Court in 2004, overturning a decade-old law that had restricted Representatives to six terms (twelve years). Terry Livingston
The 2022 Wyoming gubernatorial election took place on November 8, 2022, to elect the governor of Wyoming. Incumbent Republican Governor Mark Gordon won a second term against Democratic Wyoming State Facilities Commission member Theresa Livingston. Livingston's vote percentage was the lowest for a Democratic candidate running for governor in Wyoming since it was admitted to the union in 1890, falling short of Leslie Petersen's 22.90% performance in 2010. Gordon won by the widest margin in the state's history, winning by 58.3 points and becoming the first Republican to win every county since 2010. Livingston's 15.82% of the vote was the weakest performance by a major party candidate in any state since that of Republican Dan Maes in Colorado in 2010. Peter Thomas Gosar (born December 29, 1967) is an American politician. Gosar was the Democratic nominee for Governor of Wyoming in 2014 but lost to Republican Matt Mead. Gosar also served as chair of the Wyoming Democratic Party and as chair of the Wyoming Board of Education. Early life and education Gosar was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Antone John Gosar and Bernadette M. (née Erramouspe) Gosar, the seventh of ten children, and is of Basque and Slovenian descent. He grew up in Pinedale, Wyoming and is the younger brother of Paul Gosar, a Republican U.S. Representative from Arizona. Gosar attended the University of Wyoming from 1986 until 1990, where he played linebacker on the Wyoming Cowboys football team. The 2018 Wyoming gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to elect the Governor of Wyoming.
