Mary Jean Stone (born at Brighton, Sussex, in 1853; died at Battle, Sussex, 3 May 1908) was an English historical writer. Life She was educated in Paris and at Aschaffenburg in Germany, where she acquired a knowledge of French, German, and Italian. In Germany she became a Roman Catholic convert, and was received into the Catholic Church by Monsignor Ketteler, then Bishop of Mainz. On her return to England, she was encouraged as a historian by Jesuit contacts. Emily Mary Page Stone MB, BS (31 May 1865 – 18 December 1910), generally referred to as Mary or E. Mary Page Stone (sometimes hyphenated), was a medical doctor in the State of Victoria, Australia. Mary was born in Mornington, Victoria, a daughter of shopkeeper John Stone, and his wife Laura Matilda, née Reed. She was educated there and in England, training as a teacher. Mary Perry Stone
Mary Perry Stone (May 9, 1909 – June 6, 2007) was an American painter, sculptor, and muralist. She is best known for her social protest artwork. Her archives are held in the Smithsonian's Archives of American Art. Early life and education Mary Perry was born on May 9, 1909, in Jamestown, Rhode Island. At the age of 15, she went to New York City to study art at the Art Students League of New York. After high school, she completed her art training at Traphagen School of Fashion and Design in New York. At the same time, she studied sculpture at the New School for Social Research with sculptor Aaron Goodelman, Aaron J. Goodelman. Recalling this time in a taped interview for the Smithsonian Archives, she said she initially worked in clay, which would be cast into plaster, and that by the time she was 21, she had learned to carve marble and other stone. Mary Stone (May 1, 1873 – 30 December 1954), also known as Shi Meiyu (), was a doctor of medicine graduated from the University of Michigan. She founded Danforth Memorial Hospital in Kiukiang (now called the Women and Children's Hospital of Jiujiang). Life Born to a Chinese Christian family in Kiukiang (now called Jiujiang) on May 1, 1873, Stone's father was a Methodist pastor and mother was the principal of a Methodist school for girls. She attended Rulison-Fish Memorial School (now called Jiujiang Tongwen Middle School), established by American missionary Gertrude Howe, in Jiujiang for ten years. Inspired by the American medical missionary Dr. Kate Bushnell, her father hoped to train her as a medical doctor. Maggie Stone is a fictional character from the American daytime drama ''All My Children''. She was portrayed by actress Elizabeth Hendrickson, who also portrayed Maggie's identical twin sister Frankie Stone.
