Mary Moore (mayor)
Mary Moore is a former mayor of Pearsall, Texas. Moore was the first woman as well as the first African American to be elected Mayor of Pearsall. Elections On May 9, 2015, Moore became the first African American woman to be elected Mayor of Pearsall, Texas, US with 66% of the vote. Her campaign was centered on bringing change to a corrupt city government that had been overwhelmed with lawsuits and grand jury indictments of its officials. She said that there was a "history of dysfunction at City Hall" and that she would run under the banner of "Honest Leadership". Moore was re-elected in 2017. In 2022 she stood for Frio County judge. Pearsall ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Frio County, Texas, United States. The population was 9,146 at the 2010 census, up from 7,157 at the 2000 census. Geography Pearsall is located near the center of Frio County at (28.891458, –99.094873). Interstate 35 bypasses the city on the west side, with access from Exits 99, 101, and 104. I-35 leads northeast to San Antonio and south to Laredo. According to the United States Census Bureau, Pearsall has a total area of , of which , or 0.27%, is covered by water. Bonita is a village in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 170 at the 2020 census, down from 284 in 2010. History Bonita was founded in the early 1890s when the railroad was extended to that point. A post office has been in operation in Bonita since 1890. Geography Bonita is located in northeastern Morehouse Parish at (32.921780, -91.673838). U.S. Route 165 passes through the village, leading southwest to Mer Rouge and to Bastrop, the parish seat, while to the northeast it leads to Wilmot, Arkansas.
