Marvin J. Roshell
Marvin J. Roshell (October 27, 1932 – March 9, 2022) was an American electrician, small business owner, and Democratic politician. He served 14 years in the Wisconsin State Senate, representing the 23rd Senate district in western Wisconsin. Early life and career Roshell was born on October 27, 1932, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He graduated from Cadott High School in Cadott, Wisconsin, and enlisted in the United States Air Force at age 18. He served from 1950 to 1954, including duties in the Korean War, and afterwards attended Coyne Electrical College. He worked as an electrician and contractor at Roshell Electric, which was owned by his father and uncle. In 1968, he and his brother, Eugene, along with their cousins Bill and John Roshell, bought the business from their fathers. The 23rd Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Chippewa County and most of Clark County, as well as eastern Eau Claire County, eastern Dunn County, western Marathon County, and parts of northwest Jackson County and northeast Trempealeau County. The district is mostly rural, but contains the cities of Black River Falls and Chippewa Falls, most of the city of Marshfield, and part of the city of Eau Claire. Tommy George Thompson (born November 19, 1941) is an American Republican politician who most recently served as interim president of the University of Wisconsin System from 2020 to 2022. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the 42nd governor of Wisconsin from 1987 to 2001 and 19th United States secretary of Health and Human Services from 2001 to 2005, in the cabinet of President George W.
